Monkey Marionettes

The two monkey marionettes in 'Baba Shakespeare' at The Arcola Tent

The two monkeys having a moment on stage

Close-up!

Two wooden monkey marionettes commissioned for Tower Theatre's production of Baba Shakespeare at The Arcola Tent in 2012.

The puppets were designed to walk both on all fours and on two legs, like the performing monkeys typically owned by monkey wallahs in India.

A blog of the making process can be found here: http://evolvingmonkeys.blogspot.co.uk

The marionettes were operated by myself and fellow puppeteer Emma Reade-Davies.
